First CEA TechHome Mediterraneo Roundtable Connects, Inspires Integrators

Leading companies join together to share best practices and grow the industry.

November 24, 2010 – The CEA TechHome Mediterraneo Roundtable, held at the NH Fiera hotel in Milan, Italy, attracted 30 leading systems integrators for a first-of-its-kind event: the gathering of the custom electronics community to share best practices, network, and discover new opportunities.

The Roundtable featured the presentation of research exclusive to CEA TechHome Mediterraneo about the Italian custom integration community, a case study of Greater Alarm of Los Angeles, CA, USA and its founder George De Marco, and roundtable discussions to share best practices in installation, business management and marketing.

“The Roundtable gave home technology integrators the opportunity to meet, learn from each other and take key findings back to their businesses,” says Paolo Mongiovi of Mongiovi Consulting, which is assisting CEA and AE Ventures in the launch and development of CEA TechHome Mediterraneo. “By the time the event was over, attendees were already asking the date of the next Roundtable.”

“We’re working extremely hard to provide Italian integrators the information and networking opportunities they need to grow their businesses – and the entire industry,” says Leonardo Norsa, Executive Director of CEA TechHome Mediterraneo. “This market is on a path to expand quickly, and these integrators will be leading the way.”

The Roundtable, which opened with remarks by Signor Mongiovi, began with a presentation of research and panel discussion by the CEA TechHome Mediterraneo Advisory Board: Roberto Lazzarini of domoticaeluce, Roberto Salari of Salari Impianti, Bruno Marchionni of Ar.Tec Security and Luigi Passerini of domotica.it. This was followed by the case study of Greater Alarm, with founder George De Marco adding anecdotes about his time running the company. The roundtable discussions and reporting of best practices ended the event, with a group photo and lunch following.

“Events like the Roundtable help the community prepare for the CEA TechHome Mediterraneo Summit in October 2011 at Lake Maggiore, where integrators will have the opportunity to meet directly with manufacturers to provide feedback on products, ask questions, and learn about new opportunities,” says Norsa.

“In the meantime, business how-tos, company profiles and technology stories will continue to be published three times per week on cea-thm.com.”

Video of the Roundtable will be available on http://www.cea-thm.com starting Wednesday, December 1.
